CHAMPNEYS
ANNUAL CYCLE RIDE
With a difference
A change of Venue a change of route.
12 and 13th SEPTEMBER 2009
ACHESON AND ACHESON
(Ken and Fiona) who manufacture the products we so proudly sell have
offered to organise it this year. They themselves supported the
rides each year and wanted to give something back and also get their
own staff members to join in. They live in Bath.
So BATH it
is this year
We have put together an exciting and different
weekend as well as the
RIDE ALONG THE CANAL PATH
12 miles to a Pub for lunch and 12 miles back.
Easy! If I can do it so can you.
As BATH is a fair
journey for most of you, we are putting together a fun weekend which
all your family can join in. The final details are still being put
together but the outline is:
SATURDAY Afternoon
Walking or Bus Tour of Bath
And free time to enjoy the sights, museums and shops
SATURDAY
Evening Dinner at a family welcoming
estaurant.
SUNDAY Morning
the BIKE RIDE to a pub for lunch
Non cyclists
can drive to the pub to meet us (about 30 mins) We had hoped for a
canal barge to take the non cyclists but that was going to be far
too slow about 8 hours, rather a long time and you have to come
back. We will try to find spare seats in cars for those who need
them.
SUNDAY Afternoon
RIDE THE BIKE BACK
Final details are
still to come but we need you to register your intent now and
certainly before the 25th August. We need to know how
many to book for if you need to hire a bike, will you want to go
on the tour. So please commit, come and have a fun weekend with
us. Registration is just £5.00 per person (children and non riders
free) and if you can make a donation or get some sponsors for this
years recipient, The SILVER STAR APPEAL (for a
Diabetes mobile bus) then so much the better and collecting
money for our Charity is what it is all about.
Registration Form is attached and some
suggestions for Hotels but a look at the Bath Tourist website will
probably give you a wider list of cheaper Bed and Breakfast places
but do bear in mind that most B&Bs want a two night stay,
particularly over a weekend. Why not make a complete weekend -
there are lots of things to do for both adults and children.
